Advent Colander – Dec 5th

[Open the door / Close the door]

As I’ve mentioned previously, I recently dusted down my guitar and have started learning to play again. I am by no means any good at it, but I can give you a damn fine rendition of Home on the Range providing you don’t mind me stopping for five minutes between chord changes while I work out where my fingers go.

Evan regards the guitar as just another letterbox to slot random objects into. Therefore not only does it function as a stringed instrument, but I can also use it as a rattle.

Not that I get to play it that often when he’s around anyway. Every time I pick it up he rushes over and puts his hand flat on the strings.

“Stop please Daddy.” he implores me with tears in his eyes. “Stop.”

    That header is brilliant.

You should run them in the opposite direction or just mix them up, freaky.

And yeah, if you are playing music and making kids cry, and it’s NOT a song about a pet rat, then it’s time to quit.

Your new banner made me laugh out loud. And that hardly ever happens.

He’ll learn to appreciate the effort in the long run…

Xbox’s mix-up idea sounds cool btw.

Xbox – This theme has a “random blog header” feature, so i might actually have a go at that.

And I’m not sure I know any songs about dead pet rats.

Kirsty – It was meant to make people swoon, overcome with my devastating handsomeness

Arjan – We’ll see. I’m hoping a mystery package is going to arrive at some point next week which will knock the guitar sideways when it comes to torturing my children.

Xbox – Don’t you mean “Shep”? The only tragic rat songs I know were sung by Roland Rat.

Xbox – Actually just looked it up. I had no idea that was a song about a rat. You learn something new every day.

Movin down the road – We certainly can. I’m pretty sure I’m right at the bottom of the pecking order in our house

Kevin – Thanks. I think my eyes are a little dead in it personally, but it’ll do for now. I’m going to do another one which will be lit a bit better, but am currently only goateed so I’ll have to grow the beard back.

My son likes to unplug and plug my amp whenever I try to play. If I play sans amp, then he’s all over the strings. So like you, I don’t play much when he’s around.

Holmes – I think if I had an amp there would be some sort of uprising
