Joe Cornish’s Quantum of Solace theme tune

Joe Cornish’s Quantum of Solace theme tune is fantastic. In fact so is his comedy partner Adam Buxton’s version. Actually everything that these two put out is more or less genius. If you’re not listening to their Radio Six Music show and podcast already then you bloody well should be.

Just saw QoS Friday night (date night), and I really liked the title song. (I think you are talking about the theme music and not the title though)
After 20-something Bond movies there’ve been some good ones (Live and Let Die, Goldfinger), some Bad (For Your Eyes Only) and some WTF? (Tomorrow Never Dies (Cheryl Crow for $*&%#’s sake).
This is Jack Black and Alicia Keys and some very nice production by Jack, too. I remember thinking as I watched the credits (and playing the usual Spot The Naked Breast Game that goes with it) that this is a Bond title song that I might actually buy.

JJ Daddy O – I’m personally not too keen on the song. Not Bond enough for my liking. Mind you, that’s a criticism that’s been leveled at the movie too so perhaps it’s appropriate.

Bond has turned pretty grim and almost nihilist, it’s true.
I kept waiting for him to crack a joke or at least a corny double-entendre, but no luck.
Maybe they can bring Sean Connery in on the next one as sort of a life coach: “What’sh the matter wi’ ye boy? When I was your age I wash boffing Rooshin spy gels two at a time!”
