Advent Colander: Dec 2nd

[Open the door / Close the door]

This morning as I was scraping up Coco Pops from the living room carpet I heard a shriek from over near the window. Half expecting to see Evan hanging from Amy’s ear lobes or some other ingenious form of torture going on I went over to investigate. To my surprise the screaming wasn’t down to my children engaging in the age old tradition of fratricide; but was caused by the rather exciting spectacle of the ground outside being covered in snow.

It wasn’t entirely unexpected however as snow has been forecast for the past few days. Unfortunately the council must not have been watching the same weather reports as me as they hadn’t bothered gritting the roads. Consequently getting Amy and Evan to school and nursery was a bit of a nightmare, but I managed it eventually and then headed out the door with the camera to get some winter worderland shots of the area behind our house.

Looking at Yahoo weather it’s been snowing where our friends Greg and Deb live too. Cheer up Deb, just another five months until spring.

You can see the rest of my snow pictures here.

Jeez, it’s a brutal 55 deg F here in Savannah. But I do miss snow, occasionally. For about 10 minutes. Then I get over it.

Ooh your snow is better than our snow. Ours had gone by lunchtime – I’m just watching Look North and they are saying lots of schools closed over on the West Coast because of it. Wussies.

Those shaving shot are absolutely bloody brilliant.

You need to work those into your header.

Just ice here. I even had to crack out my car-thief esq Rockports to combat it.

It snowed for exactly 2 minutes here. Mum says the kids at her school went nuts and started asking if that meant they were going home now.

The bad thing was they couldn’t let the kids out onto the playground today as it was icy… so even if it does snow and stay they won’t be able to play in it!

I, however, shall be making snow angels!

JJ Daddy O – To be fair though I don’t think I could cope wit your heat in the summer

Gail – Ours isn’t gone yet, but it is pretty sparse. If the BBC are to be believed there may be more tonight though.

Xbox – I never thought of that. I just might do it.

Avitable – Nope. This is the first snow we’ve got for aboug four years so i’m enjoying it while it lasts.

VegasDad -Yup, now just send me some photos of Las Vegas strippers and we’ll be even.

SingParentDad – I hate deicing so I just leave my car running overnight.

James – I suspect it’ll be well gone by christmas unfortunatly.

Kevin – Surely you must remember it from your glory years back in Blighty.

Bec – Make sure you wrap up warm.

Ed – I’m now very tempted to use them in my header, but I think i could have done them better. I might redo them but I’m currently sporting only a goatee at the moment so I’ll have to regrow the full beard.

Arjan – I wouldn’t advise it, there are some pretty crotchety old biddies on our lane.

PG – I’m starting to go off it, especially if it makes my journey to work tomorrow any more difficult.
