Mmmmm… Tunes
on Aug 24 in Uncategorized by DanAs promised last week, here is another “guess the theme tune” quiz. OK so it’s a day later than I said it would be, but I’m a busy man. Anyway it’s probably still Saturday somewhere in the world.
It’s a little bit harder this time round, especially for the chronically foreign who I am pretty sure won’t be able to get a single one of them. Serves them right for not being British, that’s what I say (although there is a slim possibility of them getting number 4).

Woo-hoo woo-hoo woo-hoo!
Sorry, I’m just so excited to tell you that #4 is the theme to Michael Palin’s Around The World In 80 Days.
We love his travel shows.
Phils last blog post..Stay At Home Dads ROCK!
Is #5 from Doc Martin?
Phils last blog post..Stay At Home Dads ROCK!
Phil You’re right on number four Phil, but wrong on number five. Well done though, I thought after no American got the Avengers last week you were all hopeless cases
Is no. 2 the theme from blockbusters?
I can recognise a few of the others but can’t place them.
Clairs last blog post..Wind dried
I’m ashamed to say that I got two and three, ashamed because no-one should have to admit to remembering what god-awful programmes they came from.
Garys last blog post..Goodbye, goodbye, we’re leaving you goodbye…
meh I should have participated in the last one..I would have know the Avengers…I don’t know any of these 5.
Arjans last blog post..Lowlands Festival
1 the good life? OR that letters to the BBC thing?
2 is Blockbusters? I’ll have a pee please Dan.
3 – some spyish thing, that dude with the bowler hat. the saint?
4- no idea
5 – Is a lovely tune (2.4 children ?)
Xbox4NappyRashs last blog post..Back in the bunker
Clair – Yep. “I’d like a P please bob”
Gary – Admit it, you have every episode of blockbusters on tape and watch them over and over again.
Arjan – Fair enough, I’m not convinced I’d know any dutch TV shows. Well, maybe some of the more “specialist” ones.
Xbox – 2 is blockbusters, but other than that you’re wrong.
So just for a recap we have:
1: ?
2: Blockbusters
3: ?
4: Around the world in 80 days
5: ?
Outrageous.

Xbox – It’s not my fault you are rubbish.
1: Bod
2: Blockbusters
3: That’s Life
4: Around the world in 80 days
5: Animal Hospital, I think.
Neil: Trust a TV geek. You are right on every single one except 5, which strangely enough I thought was one of the easier ones. I’ll give you all a clue: Chives.
I’m on day 3 of Infest (bleepy goth/industrial nonsense festival in Bradford) and just passing through before the first band is on at 4pm and No5 is without doubt the cheesiest (and not in a good way) piece of easy listening pap to ever assault my eardrums (and believe me when you’ve seen Heimaturde – imagine Knights Templar re-enacting stories of vampires and battle on stage all to a pounding industrial back beat you’ve had your eardrums and eyeballs well and truly assaulted) though I’ll be damned (I already literally am according to my very religious aunt) if I can remember what its from – best mr Pops and I can come up with so far is Countryfile, Pebble Mill (tv for the unemployed, long term sick, school skivers and retired)or a holiday programme featuring the creosoted Judith Chalmers.
Sorry, I’m chronically foreign. But hey, it’s not my fault I never saw these shows… my dad’s rabbit ears couldn’t pick up your signal from Minnesota.

I try not to be chronically foreign but there it is. I am. Doesn’t help that I don’t watch much TV either. Alas.
Foreign…

Gardeners world?
I only got Blockbusters otherwise which is really rubbish as I have a video of Bod somewhere which someone bought me when I was at college with a tutor called Bod… clearly I never actually watched the vid though it did amuse me at the time.
topchamps last blog post..Cool Brass Music
I got Blockbusters and did wonder if the last one was Gardener’s World too, but I’m not sure! Now I’ll be stuck with the BB theme tune in my head for days!
Penelopes last blog post..No pictures!
i am truly horrible at that game. i couldn’t name a single one of them.
i do wish i did live in the uk, does that count? lol
Morticia – Not the Holiday Program, although Kerry thought it was that as well
Jeff – I think you’ll find it was your fault. You were the one who chose to be American Jeff.
Nat – You don’t have to watch TV, you just have to listen to TV soundrack compilation albums. British ones. Is that too much to ask?
topchamp – Hurrah! Yes, gardeners world. Well done. Bod was an 80′s childrens classic.
Penelope – There are many worse songs to be stuck with than the Blockbusters song.
Janina – I think you get half a credit for wishing you lived here.
So, the right answers are:
1: Bod?
2: Blockbusters?
3: That’s Life?
4: Around the world in 80 days?
5: Gardeners World
I think I’m going to do this again next week, but maybe put some American ones in too.

Arjans last blog post..Study avoiding behavior (SAB)
I can remember standing in the middle of a field singing along to No 2 (Blockbusters) with about 10000 other people. Back when Leeds festival was cool. 5. Gardener’s World I think – I’m pretty sure this is one of the theme tunes that sends me screaming from the front room!
Becs last blog post..Whole Lotta Love
Arjan – Thanks so much for that. Now I have something really special planned for next week.
Bec – Singing along to blockbusters is cool??
(whispering) Hey everyone… Don’t let Dan hear… If you right-click and save his sound files, then open them in iTunes, the titles show up. Okay? Now, shhhh, here he comes (whispering off)
Hey Dan, that was fun, let’s do it again! But this time offer BIG PRIZES!! Cash is nice.
Phils last blog post..Random Olympic Thoughts
Phil – Good idea! Maybe I should give away £100 of my own money to the winner. Thanks for the suggestion.
Oh, by the way, were you whispering something then? No? OK then. Come back next week for some big cash prizes!
