Day Four – This is twice as hard as I thought

I have received many twitterings from Dan this morning and even managed to get through to him on his phone as they reach an area with better mobile reception. He told me that Sandip has had to drop out and has headed home.

Anyway as the twitters are not appearing properly on this site, I’ll copy and paste them……

  1. 2 more drop outs and I’m in the money!

I bet Sandip’s got blisters in his nostrals. I think the fact that Dan sweats the most will protect him.

Remember the book, Into the Wild? In the guy’s journal he first writes the long flowing entries about the beautiful things he’s seeing and his deep thoughts about life. In the end he writes three or four word choppy phrases all with a singular focus–Must Find Food.

I’m picturing that now as Dan and his Loons plug further and further along–…Must Stop Walking….Just Lost Foot…Need Motrin…Send Help!…

    Don’t give up Dan!

  4. They’re done with the hard part, the big hill, now they just need to wrap it up. I think they can do it.

    Go, Dan, Go!

Maybe Dan’s sweat helps him glide easily down the trails.

Well at least the weather’s been lovely – could have been worse!

Shame Dan didn’t hang corks from his hat – would have kept the midgies away.

Hang on in there – am keeping everything crossed for you and fingers crossed it will cool down a bit too weatherwise. Walking in this heat can’t be pleasant.
