Poetry please

I imagine that by now everyone is getting sick to the back teeth of me going on about the walk (You know, the one I’m doing for the Joseph Salmon Trust which you can donate to here).

So today, instead of awarding Kerry a Good Egg Award for agreeing to cart our stuff all over the Yorkshire Dales, I have decided to make public a poem I wrote for her in the first couple of weeks of our courtship.

Truth

I slowly come to see reality.
Everyone else doesn’t understand.
They mock, they taunt
They disbelieve
incredulus eyes
Yet I stand firm and strong
The truth is my scafolding
Despite the things they say
The dog did eat my homework.

It’s a wonder she didn’t dump me then and there.

I confess, I was worried when I saw that you were publishing a poem, as that sort of thing doesn’t usually go well. This, however, is literary genius.
