A lessening of pace

It’s just over two months now until the Dales Walk and I’m kicking things up a notch in both my fundraising and my training. I’m aiming to get out and walk at least three or four miles every single day from now until we set off, which is going to eat into my free time quite significantly. As a result I’m probably not going to be around as much both here and on your own blogs. But don’t cry for me Blogosphere , the truth is I never left you. All through my wild days, my mad existence, I kept my promise. Don’t keep your distance.

God I hate that song.

I’m still going to throw a couple of posts out a week though. In fact you probably won’t notice any difference. And all you buggers who have promised me a guest post still have to do them too. Don’t think you can weasel out of it that easily.

Which reminds me - must arrange a time to hand over plasters, or maybe I could post them?

Keep us informed of whatever fund raising and or publicity is going on.

    Top man Daniel.

I’ll still be around. I’m actually looking forward to a bit more time this summer to read other blogs. Like I don’t comment enough already.

Good luck with the training. I’ll have my podcast ready for you next week, finally. Just think how motivated you’ll be to walk, no, RUN down the trail when you hear my voice in your ears! If you’re like most people I know, you won’t be able to get away from it fast enough. Be thankful I’m keeping my talking to a minimum on the podcast.

My kids and I have been getting out more and more now that warm weather is here, and I completely forgot how good it feels to just walk. It must feel doubly good to know you’re walking for a higher purpose!

Oh thank you very f***ing much, now I have that song stuck in my head!!
Good luck with training, fund raising, all of it. I admire anyone who can do this sort of thing, I will happily cheer from the side lines ;o)

Preparation is essential. Keep it up. We’ll survive your absense.

Dan I’m on catch up. I believe that you’re training, and you know, not down the pub sat outside in the sunshine nursing a pint. No really, I believe you ok?

I’ll just keep the feed running (psst there’s a word-joke in there).

I’m really going to donate for 2 reasons: 1 It’s for a very very good cause 2 I want that ‘I gave Dan blisters’ banner badly!

” I’m aiming to get out and walk at least three or four miles every single day from now until we set off, which is going to eat into my free time quite significantly.” - WHAT THE FUCK!!

You need to be doing much more than that. You’ll literally die during the walk proper if you aren’t used to the distances we are planning.

I was thinking the same as sandip, but then again, those new, blue trainers might have some magic in them.

you’re better of doing three walks a week of 10, 12 and 14 miles dude.

Now that the weather has improved, I’m planning on ditching the car and walking to and from work.
That should total 8-9 miles per day, which sadly means getting up an hour earlier, and not being able to eat until an hour later than normal (or leaving work at a sensible hour to get home at the same time as usual).

I too have upped the pace, and added various strings to my fundraising bow. Persistent mentions on my community website (www.thesinner.net) and a Facebook “give me money please” banner (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=37100713)

Please note Dan, I’m not trying to steal your thunder; it’s just that if I’m to raise more money than you, I’ll stop at nothing to catch up with your £852 head start!

Hmmm, sandpip got me thinking. You may want to prewrite your obit and then leave instructions for your wife on how to publish it.

Good luck with the training! Sending good, thoughts for what I am certain will be not obit-requiring… Your mates do make fun - will THEY be walking, too??

How many pairs of sneakers - er, trainers - will you be bringing?

    You always make me laugh.
    Happy Training!

    Missing you already Evita!

Couldn’t find a nicer place to walk than the Dales though. Are you taking your camera with you?
