(Dan still can’t face blogging so I thought I’d let him off for one more night)
- I shouldn’t have said “Yes, I’ll take photos at your family party” when it was dark and rainy and I had to use flash
- I shouldn’t have watched War of the Worlds on Christmas Eve. A planet full of Kids in Peril was not really conducive to the Holiday spirit. Or comforting during my current bouts of insomnia.
- I shouldn’t have stayed up ’til 2 am to finish reading American Gods although it was very good (and it mentions the mythical portal to the Gods that is the House on the Rock).
- I shouldn’t have said “I think Evan’s getting better” when in reality he had at least 2 more days of throwing up left to do.
- I shouldn’t have been so polite when the lady at Yorkshire Water informed me I might be without running water over Christmas. It came back after 4 hours, which was just as well. I would have ended up apologising to her if she wasn’t careful. That would have shown them.
- I probably shouldn’t have chosen Super Saver Delivery on my parcel from Amazon, that didn’t arrive in time for Christmas. Sorry Dad - it’s a cool present when it decides to arrive!
- And I definitely shouldn’t have offered to write a post tonight as I’m not as good as Dan. But don’t tell him I said that :)

Finally, a post of thought and structure. It’s refreshing in these parts.
That was nice of you.
Whit’s last blog post..We Came. We Saw. It Kicked Our Ass.
You shouldn’t have said you shouldn’t have written this post, because it’s very well done!
I can’t believe you’ve been to the House on the Rock. It’s my dad’s single most favorite place on earth, and he never shuts up about wanting us to go there. Do you think we should?
I never use flash! I hate it! Screw flash!
You shouldn’t have watched the movie because it sucked balls, not so much because of any content-related issues.
Well, see, I have that book because a lot of people recommended it, but I’m scared
because I didn’t like Neverwhere.
Dan isn’t that good. He’s barely adequate. But don’t tell him I said that.
Happy new year to the family.
Who’s Dan??
zoe’s dad’s last blog post..The wisdom of Linus…..
oh my shouldn’t haves… long list, long long.
Amazon made me angry this year. I ordered on Dec 5th and just got the stuff yesterday.
Sorry about War of the Worlds, I barely sat through it myself.
That’s a cool idea - I worry that my list would be ridiculously long LOL. I watched I am Legend so I know what you mean!
Lee’s last blog post..I am Legend the movie
Spooky. I’m currently reading American Gods, and stayed up til 2 the other day reading it (although I’m only half way through).
And yes War of the Worlds (I presume Tom Cruise version) sucks balls.
PandoraCaitiff’s last blog post..2007 Retrospectacle
Whit and Zoe’s Dad - Thank you, but now I can see how the larger Mr Hughes gets addicted to this blog…
Jeff - The House on the Rock is the most fantastic place I have ever been to. You have to see it to believe it. And to think Greg and Deb nearly didn’t take us there. So yes, you have to go.
People in the Sun - Thankfully the photos aren’t that bad (and I can always turn them in to B&W). Read the book, I didn’t like Neverwhere either.
People in the Sun, Creative-Type Dad, Lee and PandoraCaitiff - yes, War of the Worlds was rubbish, but it was like rubber-necking. I knew before I started that it wasn’t worth it and would only upset me, but once I had I just couldn’t stop.
CamiKaos - I had to stop there because Dan came back in from taking photos with his friends and wanted his mac back :) He never says as much, just loiters in the background.
With the house on the rock it really helped that we had no idea what to expect, so the sheer… preposterousness of it was a wonderful shock.
plus we went with some great people.
Dan’s last blog post..Born to be wild
Dan - “Preposterousness” is exactly how I envision it. Ok then, we’ll stop by the next time we go to the Dells.
