If you drew a line, couldn’t you just write a check? You already had a pen in your hand.

But I understand your pain. We have a checkbook with doggie pictures (ASPCA gets a little money from that), and it’s really just an attempt to make this Victorian relic “cute.” If God wanted us to write checks he wouldn’t have invented Bill gates and reverse engineering.

I do still have a cheque book. But it generally takes me five attempts to write a cheque. Always has done. Well, they’re very complicated. And then there’s that funny thing my father always told me to write that I eventually found out was completely unnecessary and that now I can’t even remember. But there was definitely a thing. On a cheque.

I found my cheque book during the move and the last time I wrote a cheque was in 1999… It must be a 20th century thing!
