You have to take the crunchy with the smooth I suppose

I’m not feeling particularly like writing today so I’m bringing out something I’d prepared for just such an occasion. Prepare yourself for the dreaded return of:

A man looking over my shoulder at work just sat this picture and said, “Look at him, looking at some demon shit. What are you doing looking at that demon shit?”

    Hooray!

    More dulcet somewhere-in-Yorkshire* tones!

    Cheers Dan

A good selection of music there Dan, I rather enjoyed it. Even the profanity near the start. Can’t beat a good bit of profanity. I was tapping my tambourine throughout the broadcast, and yearning for a spot of docee do-ing.
Or rather I wasn’t tapping my tambourine. No, not at all.

Damn, that now looks like I’ve tried to weasel myself out of an awkward innuendo.

Loved every track, especially Billy Bragg and Kate Rusby, must look up some more of her stuff.

    But…

The Beatles neither wrote nor performed “Walk away Renee” - Four Tops did the definitive version, so there.

And now I must do my own podcast, it’ll be hard without the first clue where to start and even harder without a microphone but maybe my podcast could be in mime - you have inspired me sir.

Gary - You are right of course. I spoke without researching. I actually looked it up as soon as I’d finished and saw I was wrong, but didn’t have the energy to go back and change it.

As for podcasting, I wrote a quick guide for Island Girl a while ago. You can see it here

I’ve never heard any of Bragg’s solo work, but his album with Wilco is a favorite.

Folk music also played a formative role in my musical life…

Loved seeing the Proclaimers in there :)
