Why do Brits like cows with horns? We have all polled Herford cows on our farm. We even dehorn the few calves that are outside the genetic norm. Do you like the idea of handles on animals? Nice picture, though, Dan. How far must you travel to get these pastoral scenes?
Lise – We’re fortunate to live in a pretty rural location, the countryside is just outside the doorstep. This was taken about a mile from my house.
As for cows with horns, I dunno, but I have a friend that is the daughter of a cattle farmer so i’ll ask her.
I dunno about the rest of you, but that cow scares me. Have you taken a look at the expression in those eyes? Positively devilish. And the straw looks like stuffing spilling out of its mouth … now I’ve freaked myself out.
As for nablopomo … I messed it all up by missing a day. I had an excuse, but it wasn’t a very good one blog-wise.
On an unrelated cow/blog note I am wondering if you saw the Mark Thomas/Dispatches programme about Coca Cola that was on C4 earlier?
