If you would care to direct your attention elsewhere

There are some people who will tell you there is a big list of essential equipment necessary for long distance walking. Maps, hiking boots, emergency rations, waterproof clothing; the list goes on and on. To those so called experts I say pish, piddle and balderdash. What do they know about walking? Oh sure they may have traipsed the length and breadth of the United Kingdom doing their so called research. But have they walked from my house down to the village and back? I think not.
