    Chive.

  2. 2 whit

Yes, chive indeed, also some bit about dappled sunlight.

Keep making them Dan! Luckily, you are among the first sites in my reader, although I suppose being alphabetical, luck doesn’t have that much to do with it. Regardless, I always put on the headphones and listen to your show while reading the other, less entertaining blogs.

I too have Ben Folds as a ringtone. My default ringer is New Slang from The Shins, but when my wife calls it plays Landed by Ben Folds.

I hope Kerry enjoys her “prize.” Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

I absolutely love this whole podcast thing. I finally got some headphones for the office so now I can listen to your shows. Excellent cover of your Beatles tune btw. And, most excellent choice for the Costello tune too. Picking one from his massive discography would actually be pretty tough.

Thanks for all the nice things you said. Your check is in the mail - or do you prefer PayPal?

Three. That’s how many kids I have.

  4. 4 Jeff

BTW - that whole chive dappled sunlight thing was sneaky. And I thought I could trust you.

  5. 5 Oli

Hooray! More stuff to distract me from work! I was struggling yesterday, and actually got some stuff done. Shocking.

  6. 6 Battleaxe

Whilst sitting in dappled sunlight eating a chive sandwich I was listening to your podcast - actually it was in the dining room, eating a pizza. Don’t stop Dan, thoroughly enjoying it all but I’ll try and forget the remark about Kerry’s prize!

  7. 7 Dan

I don’t know what all this fuss is about Kerry’s prize. I only gave her a book token.

  8. 8 Paul

Hey I sang and played on that! Brilliant.

  9. 9 Oli

    Ep3 was great. More please!
Else I’ll have to do work while I’m at work, and we can’t be having that.

Do I have to suggest more songs? How about “Emerge” by FischerSpooner and/or “Harder Faster Stronger” by Daft Punk (re-introduced to my audio library by this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2cYWfq–Nw - give it a minute of crappyness before it gets good…)

    Hey Dan,
Good job describing my current job. I just tried to do it on a new CV/resume and I believe a transcript of you describing it would be more likely to get me a new job.

“Air and Sun And Nudeln” is a from a Greg Brown song where he hypothesizes that one of his kids lives on air and sun and noodles. When we made it the blog title we put Noodles into German…

    Hey Dan,
I really enjoyed this one. Maybe I am going to have to do this myself. Sounds like too much fun.

  12. 12 bon bon

nirvana, into queens of the stone age, was brilliant. i think a regular podcast is in order. i especially enjoy the way you pronounce garage.

as for your kind words? i’m speechless really. i could return the same compliments right back to you. the only real differences between us is that you lead me in IQ by approximately 37 points. if it were any more then that, i’d probably hate you.

  13. 13 Dan

Bon Bon - I’ve been informed that, just as TV puts 20 pounds on you, an English accent puts 40 IQ points on you (to Americans obviously). So in reality you are 3 points ahead.

While admiring the fall of the dappled sunlight on the chive patch, I came across your fantastic selection. Got here because (of all things) I was looking for the Morecombe and Wise skit featured on your childhood memories podcast, and am now firmly plugged in - all the way from sunny New Zealand. On the subject of Kerry’s prize, I was reminded of the woman who went into a bar and asked the barman for a Double Entendre - so he gave her one. Keep up the good work.
