I just wanted to comment here before anyone else. See people, this is how I roll.

Great mix Dan! I think you may have found your calling- besides all of your other callings that is.

  2. 2 L.A. Daddy

Ew, that was creepy - as soon as I landed on your page, a TV commercial came on and was playing “There She Goes” at the exact same time I read that selection…

OK, Dan, I have a couple of things to say:

    1. Thank you for the “shout-out” and your kind words. You are welcomed to use my “BoMR” idea anytime if I can take your podcasting idea!

    2. This was a brilliant idea as I have already said. Great job.

    3. Great playlist - I have already downloaded a couple of tunes. Clearly, you need to get a commission for this.

    4. The song you use at the intro and exit of your podcast is awesome. It was a song used during a Saturday Night Live skit recently and it stays in my head. What is it called?

    5. Keep up the great work you are doing!

    The other Dan

  4. 4 Island Girl

Another great mix! Thanks so much for doing this, you rock! Loved 2 and 3 especially.

  5. 5 Dan

T’other Dan - I didn’t exactly invent podcasting :) But feel free to do the whole requests thing on your blog, that would be really cool actually. You might want to ask for people to email you the mp3’s first though (as suggested by Bon Bon) as if you’re actually paying for the tracks then it could get quite pricey. 46 x £0.79 = err… a lot of money. Of course you could do a personal playlist type thing from your own cd collection which would be a lot cheaper.

As I say if you want any of the tracks I’v played then just email me.

The intro and exit song is the theme tune to the original 1967 Casino Royale film staring David Niven and Woody Allen. It has been rattling around my head since I was about ten. The version I use - by the Mexican Border Brass Ensemble is the original one I think. Check your email *nudge nudge, wink wink*

Layla - that’s one of my favs too! I originally heard this in the film ‘Goodfellas’ years ago, but it was the piano and guitar instrumental, at then end of the track. Took me years to find out that it was indeed ‘Layla’.

P.S. Dan, have you downloaded the Mitchell and Webb stuff I uploaded for you?

P.S. - I am in the middle of a bar in leicester square at the moment whilst the other half is getting the drinks in (browsing on the old PDA) and am being stared at by many people, presumably because of the incidents in London yesterday.

  7. 7 Bec

The tunes - fantastic. I loved Cold Water and shall be downloading in due course!

And I knew I just knew you’d be a fellow Mac user… I love Garageband although I have no idea what half the buttons do either… but I’m determined, yes determined. I mastered iMovie and iDVD… Garageband will fall!

Sandip - I’ve downloaded volume one and two, but have yet to grab three and four. It’s on my list of things to do tonight though.

As for the strange looks, I apologize for the rest of the human race. This whole thing worries me, I think we are headed for some serious racial tension which, of course, is exactly what the bastards want.

Of course they could have just been sneering at the flash bastard with the expensive PDA.

  9. 9 Jeff

Most entertaining! You’re a very likable DJ - AND, you’re helping to expand my musical experiences.

    And all this is free?!

  10. 10 bon bon

great job once again! we should be careful that the blogging world doesn’t lose you to the podcasting world.

i have to tell you though, each time i hear the intro and outro, i crack up thinking of this saturday night live skit where a basketball team keeps losing, so the coach plays them this tune as inspiration—
