Love this! Have you on loud and clear as I work. Now all you need is a call in show.
My request for next time is a band called The Hard Goodbye — my favorite track is Play Dead. The only place I know to find them is on iTunes.
Sweet. I can’t wait to listen to this when I get home from work. Unfortunately I don’t have the kind of job that lets me listen to music while I’m working :-(
That was absolutely wonderful! Aren’t you just the man?! I have listened right through once and it cheered me up no end, I think I’ll listen again. Anthony’s song was awesome. And good work ending on Crowded House, the Finns are NZ boyz through and through, even though they claim their band is Australian. Lies!
Looking forward to the further editions…
Fantastic. I listened all the way through with headphones while working, and now I’m restarting it to hear while I’m in the other room. Brilliant.
I’m sure the one that plays my songs will be all the better.
Island girl - I thought New Zealand was a part of Australia anyway? A bit like Scotland belongs to England.
I’m joking of course. We all know that Australians come from Austria.
Kerry and i were very close to emigrating to New Zealand at one point, I even had a preliminary phone interview for a job agency. We ended up not going due to the distance we’d be away from our families.
Wonderful blog you have here ,I really loved reading and listening to you.
Just genius. Loved that - Had it on as a kind of background thing (as I do with most podcasts but then found myself just listening - jobs be damned!
Cracking tunes (was giggling like schoolgirl when I heard which one of mine you had chosen!
Already salivating in anticipation of the next one…
I couldn’t wait so I snagged some headphones from a co-worker and am enjoying the mix right now. This is a great idea, thanks for doing this. For your next post perhaps you can add the name of the song(s) in the post text along with the blogger? That’ll help dolts like me who can’t remember what I had for lunch today. :-)
Jeff - Good idea. I’ve updated this post to give a track listing (although it does spoil the suspense about which of your suggestions I’m going to play)
Don’t worry about forgetting stuff though Jeff. It’s only natural at your age.
Brilliant! This will be going on our next road trip. We’ll be listening to you as we drive wildly down the highways of Montana.
Oh, my!! I LOVE it. Can’t wait for the next installment! And to start with LC? — Brilliant!
That was fun, Dan. You wrapped things up with one of my favorite songs that I forgot was one of my favorite songs.
I would love to see Crowded House.
They must have purchased a drum machine.
This is such a great idea, Dan! I have already listened to it twice. But more than the music, it is your comments that make this a truly brilliant podcast.
Please don’t stop!
The Other Dan
So I just started it. I wasn’t going to drink today (you know, while the sun is up) but I must have a celebratory beer. Pump up the Volume? GREAT!
Anthony - Good grief man, don’t start drinking yet! Not if you’re doing that Edward 40 hands thing later on.
I don’t want to be responsible for another naked picture of you on top of a car on your blog.
That was way good. I am excited for the rest of the installments.
great job, dan! that was quite entertaining! it would’ve never even occurred to me that korea and career sound similar if i hadn’t have heard it from an englishman.
if you get it under your skin to keep doing this, i’m sure all your loyal followers would be happy to start sending you mp3s. of course, that would be illegal and i would never recommend such a criminal activity.
Can’t listen atm as my Mum is over for a visit and I’m sneaking a look ont tinternet on the laptop but I will when I get chance.
Think I might do the same on my lj blog,it’ll be exciting to see what people suggest.
Morticia -I just re-read this and realized something. I didn’t know you had a lj blog. Is it private or can we all come over and have a peek?
