I’ve not been entirely honest in my last post. While I freely admit to having an addiction to diet coke, even I would draw the line at having a entire fridge dedicated to the sweet elixir of life. No, that photo is evidence of a completely different addiction altogether.
Coke is currently running a promotion where, by entering a code found on the packaging on their website, you get put into a minutely draw to win an iTune track and an hourly draw to win a 80gb iPod.
Now up until yesterday I hadn’t taken much notice of the competition, despite me regularly consuming two liters of coke a day (yeah yeah, I know). However as I was taking off the labels from some empty bottles in preparation for my next great project I saw the codes and thought I would have a go.
I entered 6 codes and won 5 times.
Apparently the worst thing that can happen to you if you dabble with gambling is that you win big the first time you try it. I don’t know about that, but I do know that I immediately went out and bought four more 2 liter bottles of coke. Then I won four more iTunes tracks. But not an iPod in sight.
So today I went out and bought 12 6 can multipacks and five 500ml bottles. In my defense they were on offer (two for the price of one), and I will drink them all; eventually. You get two entries with the 500ml bottles and so I have a grand total of 22 entries all ready for the off.
This is to be the grand hurrah, the final push. I can’t continue compulsively buying multipack after multipack in a fruitless quest for the elusive iPod. This is my last chance and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. I’ve set my alarm for 4:15am so I can enter at a time when my rival pod hunters are hopefully reduced in number. I’ve placed all the codes in a neat pile beside my laptop. I have the coke homepage in my bookmarks toolbar. I’m good to go.
It’s a million to one chance, but it might just work.

Is this the point I mention your text today asking me if I were perhaps thirsty, and perhaps near a shop, I could perhaps buy a coke and text you the code??
I know, just wait until you win the ipod, etc.
The greenhouse does look quite cool, although I’m hoping for the bijou version as our front garden isn’t big enough for that one. We have given our neighbours an interesting topic for conversation - what on earth are Kerry and Dan doing with all those coke bottles?

I remember winning 80 cans of fosters lager in a raffle once. The fridge was very embarrassing for a bit.
Do you get the luxury DRM free iTunes or the other kind?

Both… I think.

ROTFLMBO! My friend and I collect the Coke caps with the code inside. So far we’ve gotten a Playstation 2, $100 Sony GC, $100 Sephora GC and she got a few Christmas gifts. LOL I understand the addiction. But we’ve taken it a step further and now we have everyone donating their Coke caps to us! See if you can get your friends and family to donate their codes. Most people just throw it away. And let me tell you that this addiction runs so deep that we are not afraid to take a cap off of a discarded bottle in the parking lot. Pathetic? Yes, but we reap the benefits. I hope you get that ipod, just don’t spend more on the Coke than you would on the ipod. ;-)

Is it me, or are individual iTunes tracks .99 cents? Pence. Whatever.
Say ‘hi’ to the Oompa Loompas for me.
