My daughter wants to marry her Mommy. Should I be worried?!

Actually, I have a routine that I am confident will cause a lifetime of therapy: Every night when I come home, my 3 year old daughter jumps into my arms and I lift her over my head and ask her 3 questions:

1. Who is the only man that will ever really love you? “You, Daddy!”
2. What do all boys have? “Germs, Daddy!”
3. What does too much make makeup make you look like? “Cheap, Daddy!”

When I first asked those questions, it was LONG before she ever knew what they meant. Clearly, I was joking and she was just repeating words. But now, she is “getting it” because last week she told some boys on the playground that they have germs. OOPS!

Back to your post; it does make it all worth while when we slow down long enough to truly listen to our children.
