One small step for man

One small step
Not only am I a master carpenter, but I am also a master bricklayer. Is there no end to my talents? It’s a bloody good job that the garden is meant to be “rustic”, that’s all I can say.

There obviously will be more steps to join this one, but there is only so much stone you can steal from walls find in one go. Plus I want to give the mortar time to set. I intend to plant alpines in all the cracks so hopefully it won’t look that bad when fully finished.

Ah. Well, at least you actually go out of doors. So that’s several points over me. Which bit is the step?

Dude that looks great. Rustic always looks better (well not always but in this case certainly!). I have semi fond memories of building retaining walls and rock steps from my days in Green Corps (environmental program over here in Aussieland). So kudos!

Um, can we get a wider shot of this? I’m unclear how this is even one step. Where are these steps even supposed to be going?

But surely that would spoil the mystery! It’s like the secret garden, but with steps.

Oh ok, I’ll take one at some point today.

The step in context. As I say, it is the first of a series that will eventually take me onto the lawn area.
