Amy and I were going through her nighttime routine. Despite all my efforts to persuade her otherwise she insisted that she wanted to wear a nightie rather than pyjamas. It was a pretty miserable night outside and I was worried she’d wake up freezing once the heating had gone off.
Most of the nightdresses were in the wash but I managed to find a solitary one hiding in the corner of her wardrobe drawer. Amy saw my selection and was horrified.
“But it’s got no sleeves Daddy!†she protested “my arms will get coldâ€.
Kerry was walking past the door and threw in the suggestion that she could wear her pyjama top to cover her arms. Amy enthusiastically slipped it on over her nightie.
“Now give me the pyjama bottoms please†she demanded briskly. “I don’t want my legs to get cold too.â€
It was a victory of a sort I suppose.

Dan, how the heck did you get from 300 posts to 308 in two posts???
Does every comment you make count as an entry? If so, I’m never going to be able to keep up since I post genuine stories (mostly boring stories, but that’s not the point).
Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater!
Ahem. Before you start accusing me of being a pumpkin eater I would like to point out the reason that my post count had jumped because I reclaimed the five posts Craig posted up for me while I was away. And to be fair I had written them, I’d just copied and pasted them to Craig’s account.
I shall be contacting my legal representative first thing Monday morning.
If you had accused me of putting a bland filler entry in, or posting merely I had a nagging feeling I really should write something no matter how dull, then you would have been justified.
Also, there are 43 posts in my mini blog category which I think would be reasonable to discount if you want to keep a tally, therefore I only really have 265 posts. I’ll still win though, because I am the bestest.
Any decision that a child makes, for whatever reason, that leans the parents way is a victory.
Ah, the logic of our little ladies. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
It’s all about face, isn’t it? They know they’re wrong but they won’t admit until a ‘win-win’ solution can be worked out…
Ohhhh ya gotta pick your battles there LOL
