This one’s for Amy, she loves this song. It starts off pretty so-so, but there is some rather nice harmonizing once it get’s going.
The song is all right, but the thing I love is that the internet allows people to share their art and creativity with the world without needing to be assessed by some corporate middleman to see if it can be translated into profit. These girls will never “make it big”. They are merely talented armatures. But they have entertained 32,000 people on youtube – and that counts for a hell of a lot.
I should learn how to play the ukulele because then I’d perform the Firefly theme song…
Needless to say I watched without reading the post and was slightly disappointed.
;)
I always thought Firefly’s theme song was the only crappy part of that show.
Or is that heresy?
I think it borders on heresy, maybe not completely across the line because it’s obviously not as cool as the 1960s Iron Man theme which is currently my ringtone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Wn4iYoMcAA
If you learn the Firefly theme song on the uke I’ll accompany it.
Lovely. You’re right, it’s nice that they can reach people without going through the companies that choose what they think we’d like to listen to.
I just like that people can express themselves and get validation for that without having to bring corporations into it (well, aside from google and youtube obviously)
I don’t think they moved enough to be categorized as armatures.
That’s a good hit-count for amateurs, though.
Pedant.
