Pretty in pink

My three year old daughter Amyâ€™s favorite color is pink. Itâ€™s a good job in some respects; sheâ€™d feel very left out if it wasnâ€™t. The mere act of buying clothes for a pre-school girl can sometimes feel like a surreal re-interpretation of the Monty Python spam sketch – you have a choice of pink, pink, or more pink.

Who am I?

My name's Dan and I live near Huddersfield in the North of England. I’m a 34 years old part time stay at home dad. For three days a week I'm also a community mental health nurse but you won’t find me blogging about that here. I’m married to Kerry and we have two children - Amy (6) and Evan (3). I keep chickens, grow veg, and take the occasional long walk. If you want to know how other's describe me then take a look here. In July of 2010 we'll be walking the length of Hadrian's Wall in six days. That's 84 miles across the entire width of England.

We're walking in aid of the Joseph Salmon Trust, a charity founded by our friends in memorial to their son Joseph who died aged 3 in April of 2005.
