All That Comes With It

  • AboutYou know when you pick up a novel at the bookshop and look at the back cover to see what it’s about, but all that’s written on it is a load of quotes from reviews which don’t actually give you any insight into what’s inside. Annoying isn’t it. Well this page is like that. A while ago I asked the people who comment here to leave me some quotes, and they responded very graciously. I did have to bribe them though. But just for those who are desperate to know some hard facts: My name is Dan and I live in the north of England. I’m 33 years old and work as a community mental health nurse (although you won’t find me blogging about that here). I’m married to Kerry and we have two children – Amy (5) and Evan (2). So there you go. If you fancy leaving a comment of your own then feel free to do so at the bottom and I’ll add it it into the main body. Oh and make sure you visit some of these peoples blogs, they are all much better than mine. Apart from my brother Sam’s. Sam’s blog is rubbish. You can contact me at: dghughes28@yahoo.co.uk ———————— “Dan is the kind of guy I could totally hang out with. Even if he does talk funny and threaten us furriners with pungent food stuffs.” Contrary from VeryContrary “Dan is a friend. He’s a friend’s friend too, even though I don’t know him (it says so right there on the internet). He’ll be your friend too for a price.” CamiKaos from Mommified Me I don’t really know Dan, but he seems to be a nice person, and I wish him no specific harm. Becky from Becky’s T-Blog This blog is what I turn to when I need to see exactly what my old Uni mate is up to. Shame the pictures never download properly for me. Rob Jones “Dan is all heart. Heart and Diet Coke.” Whit from Honea Express I’m just here because someone told me it was good. Miss Britt from Miss Britt “Dan is a clever writer and most excellent photographer who is always the first one to make fun of himself. There’s nothing better in my book than a Brit with wit.” Jeff from View from the Cloud “He uses strange words like verbatim People in the Sun from People in the Sun “Dan is a reflective and captivating writer who occasionally massacres the American language.” Darren from Clare’s Dad He may just be the sexiest bearded, Diet Coke drinking, hiking blog father out there. Bec from Out of my Tree “I stumbled upon Dan’s blog quite frankly, by accident. Sometimesthe fall is worth it.” Zoe’s Dad from Zoe’s Dad “Dan? We don’t speak much anymore. Last I heard was that he spends all of his time locked in his cellar earning his readies by plugging diet coke over the internet.” Sam from Rabbit Confused with Raisins “Doesn’t the Dan Hughes Wiki say it all?!” Dwayne from Sluggo is YoYo “I’d leave a comment but I’m too busy googling a Branston Pickle.” Tomas from Surfeit Dan – he gave me Turkish Delight that crushed my dreams, and I didn’t even win a prize. Avitable from Avitable Dan – the source of damn fine pickle recipes. Jane from Slothblog And to his credit, blogger Dan never loses the heart of the tale. Even in the midst of an incredibly thrilling magical battle of whippeting wands, flashing light and furor, he focuses on Dan’s inner war. Will he give into the angry impulses that link him to All That Comes With It or find the love his mother implanted in his blood when she died to save him? To be perfectly honest I couldn’t think of anyway to say such grand wonderful things about this grand and wonderful blog so I may have just lifted the above soundbyte from a Harry Potter review maybe. Lee from Quit Your Day Job “Its read this or go out frightening people, I know which one my probation officer prefers ;-)” Morticia ‘A fellow Yorkshireman, so thats a good start then” Gary from Jerry Chicken If I have to choose between quality time with my family and reading Dan’s blog – I read Dan’s blog. Same goes for personal hygiene. Greg from Greg and Deb on the Web “Dan has been kind enough to get me a book deal! (pending)” Bon Bon from Phantom Kitty “Dan’s blog: the header image says it all.” Arjan from Sountracks of Whatever “Of ALL the blogs I read, this is one of them!” Carla from Blah Blah Blog-o-licious ‘Dan is my favorite Brit. And one of my favorite dudes with a beard. Isn’t that a good enough reason to read?” The Chick from Outta the Coop ‘Warning: with mixed with Mentos, may cause eruption.” Kristina from Americanmum “First, I liked Dan’s blog. Then I liked Dan. Then I liked Dan’s family. Next, I’m planning on liking Dan’s country, as long as I don’t have to drive on it’s motorways.” Deb from Toast Ambassador “Dan: the original British bulldog.” Holmes from The Holmes After misdiagnosing myself as a psychopath, Dan was there to help me out. I am now happily living my life as a sociopath. Thank you, Dan. Imperceptible from Imperceptibility
