Snowy School Run
on Jan 04 in General by DanIt’s snowed again.
I took this photo whilst walking Amy to school this morning. Well, I say walking her to school – what I actually mean is escorting her from the car to the gate. Her school may only be a ten minute walk from our house, but it’s a two minute drive and those two minutes are spent in relative warmth and comfort.
So anyway, I took the photo whilst taking Amy to school. I wish I was a better landscape photographer as it really doesn’t do the scene justice.
I’m the first to admit that I live in a beautiful part of the world. And it’s even more beautiful in weather like this. I’ve got the day to myself tomorrow so might take a walk up on the tops to see if I get any better pictures. Then again I might just fritter the day away on donkey porn on the net like I usually do. I’ll see what whim takes me in the morning.

Lovely image. We have loads of snow and more forecast, I am getting a little sick of it. Bah Humbug. We also live in a wonderful place. We are very lucky too.

@TheMadHouse, I’m only fed up of it when I’m working. and I’m not back until friday – so bring it on.
Purdy.
Donkey porn rocks.

@Martin, it certainly does. As does Badger porn
@Dan, That’s just sick.
Eeeh Awww.

Too pretty. The snow looks great at sort of 2:30-3 ish just before the sun goes down imho. I’d take more pictures but frankly it’s lethal out there and sundown is bang-on nap time. Chooo. Looking forward to seeing the results!
@Catherine, unfortunately the sun sets right about where I want to take the photo, and I’m not skilled enough to make that look anything but messy. That’s why I aim for morning shots.
I was wondering if the title of your post meant you made the kids run to school. That’s what we did in my day. Uphill. Both ways.

@Kevin Spencer, run to school? you had it easy. We had to hop.
You know, you read about people having to live in these hell holes but I hadn’t realised you were one of them.

@notSupermum, it’s a hard, hard life.
I have to admit…this is my very favorite way to enjoy a beautiful snowy day…from afar!
@Susie, I’ll post you a snowball
Nice shot. Captures well the look of those beautiful Pennine towns as they reach into the adjoining valleys. (Complete with dark satanic mill if you look close enough.)

@Steve, there are better shots to be had – if only i had ore skill and more willingness to walk up hills.
Did you manage to get a day to yourself today?
Our school is closed, we have 4-5 inches of snow and it’s still coming down.
Luckily the husband is at home to look after the kids.
Such a beautiful post that created such a blissful image in my mind. Then I read the words donkey porn. Nuff said.

@Muddling Along Mummy, thanks (although it isn’t really :) )
How’d you go with the photos. Or should I assume that the lack thereof means a day of donkey porn?
@A Free Man, the kid’s school and nursery closed due to snow so I spent the day herding them rather than strollign in the countryside.
Damn parenthood.
