Star Wars: A Small Hope
on Dec 07 in Uncategorized by DanEvan started talking about Star Wars this morning, and so I introduced him to it’s glories via selected highlights on YouTube. I still can’t believe that I’ve only just realised that I no longer own a copy of the original trilogy. And I call myself a geek!
Anyhow, watching it reminded me of a video that I shot with Amy back when she was about two years old:
See, I had too much time on my hands even back then. Perhaps it’s time for a sequel.

My boys are obsessed with Star Wars, we had to get the video machine and video’s out of the loft for the original trilogy!!
But beware of light sabers and boys, things and people get “deaded” and broke!!

@TheMadHouse, I’m not sure we even own a VHS any more – hence the lack of Star Wars in our house. someone told me the trilogy is only £14 at the supermarkets now, so might have to pick it up.

How did you get the “clash” sound effects to line up with the video when you and Amy clashed swords? Was that just coincidence or did you just get lucky? Either way, the whole thing is fabulous.
@Jeff, I actually put the sound effect in myself. along with putting the light saber effect in it took me an entire afternoon.
It was a freeware program on the PC – LSmaker I think. Can’t do it now as I’ve converted to mac.

Actually, now that I reread that, it appears that coincidence and luck would be the same thing now wouldn’t they. What I meant to say was, did you painstakingly insert the audio effects into the video or did you just get lucky?
She actually looks so much more competent that you with her light-saver-whatever-its-called-thingy, until the end when she has her back to you and you leapt in sensing the poor child’s vulnerability.
