Fat Club: Week Two

A slightly delayed Fat Club report today due to me spending most of my allocated blogging time yesterday messing about with my ukulele. I’ve discovered a number of Ben Folds songs on Chordie that I’m having a lot of fun mangling.

Unfortunately I’ve been thrashed in the contest yet again this week, this time by my own wife who lost an astounding 6lb. Kerry did ask me to point out that she feels her 1lb loss last week was actually 2lb short of the real mark, and so this weeks total is artificially skewed. But still, six pounds is six pounds.

My own paltry one pound loss is rather disappointing. Sure, I went to my sister’s wedding on the weekend and stuffed my face with various unhealthy foodstuffs; but I also walked 25 miles over three mountains in one day damnit.

I’m hoping next week will be better.

Here’s the table:

Name Weekly lb loss Total lb loss Position
Ian (Single Parent Dad) 2lb 9lb 1st
Kerry 6lb 7lb 2nd
Dan (All That Comes With It) 1lb 5lb 3rd
Catherine (Some Vague Utopia) 1lb 3lb 4th
Erin (The Fierce Beagle) 0lb 2lb 5th (joint)
Barbara (JoBart) 2lb 2lb 5th (joint)

  1. You’ve nearly lost a stone between you in two weeks, that’s superb. I think I am going to find it tough to shift this last 1/2 stone. And I am hoping to balance out my weight loss now. I’m at the top end of where I would like to be.

Muscle is heavier then fat. All that walking must have built some muscle. I absolutely guarantee that this disappointment is a temporary blip and you’ll have a big loss next week.

Ok, so this week I’m going to try some exercise. Although I am a bit worried about the muscle being heavier than fat information. I won’t try too hard.

I’m either going to go swimming tonight or walk up a Scottish mountain tomorrow morning (after a swim).

Sod it. I’m going to swim and walk up a mountain this weekend.

These are all still pretty good figures! Despite your wedding binge :)

I agree – I think the amount of muscle you must be piling on is a definitie handicap. Perhaps you should do a league table based on BMI?

  9. A pound is still a step in the right direction. Bet Ian is loving his position! Kerry is putting him under pressure though. There is still time for him to falter!
