Dan and I have been to the hospital clinic this morning to find out what’s happening with the baby. The test results from Tuesday show that I’m not diabetic, which was both good and bad news, especially as she said that meant they wouldn’t induce me.
This is what we’d been expecting but not what I really wanted to happen. I know induction is not ideal but I’m already worried about the baby getting even bigger. Then everything changed 5 minutes later, when the doctor came back from speaking to the consultant. He decided that as the sugar was showing up and the baby is term now anyway, they might as well start me off.
The consultant examined me (I’ll spare you the details) and it appears that my body is getting ready of its own accord. However if nothing happens over the next week, I’m booked into the hospital for induction on Friday 20th October…

For those of you following the exciting roller coaster ride that is Kerry’s pregnancy:
Nothings happening. Still.
New to your blog but really enjoying it and wanted to wish you good luck on the upcoming birth.
I was just thinking about you and how you were when I thought I know – look at the blog and it seems you are still waiting to ‘pop’.
Hope all goes well when the time finally arrives and that it doesn’t take too much longer. I’m the eldest of 4 and my Mum always says I lulled her into a false sense of security as she had no morning sickness, and labour (after being induced as I was over a week late) was apparently ‘just a bit of tummy ache’ and there I was. My first brother by comparison was a nightmare – awful morning sickness, excruiating labour, lots of stitches, then she had my next sister and brother by epidural and not on the NHS. She said both were much easier deliveries. She had to be induced for all of us except ny youngest brother and she was very pleased to start his birth off ‘all by herself’ as she put it. I can still remember her coming into the bedroom to say ‘I’m just off to the hospital, be back later’
Good luck!!!
PS My name isn’t really Morticia but I would like it to be.
Well Morticia/Siobhan, there is always deed poll!
Thanks to everyone for the good luck messages, we’re obviously still waiting but will be keeping the blog updated.
Best of luck with the new addition. We were just in your situation and my wife could honestly not wait for the delivery to be over. First time around we were 10 days over the time and this time 3 days. Every day is tough when you’re near delivery so I know how you’re feeling.
Fingers crossed something already happened by the time you read this
