‘It’s all Greek to me” Sunday
on Aug 09 in General by DanHere’s how it works. I’ve taken a short film synopsis from imdb.com and fed it into Bable Fish, an online translating service. I then translated the synopsis from English into Greek, and then from Greek back into English. The resulting gobbledygook is posted below. Your task is to try and identify what movie the passage refers to.
A very easy one this week, but to be fair I couldn’t really have chosen anything else
A new tomboy, [character], finds her sentiment for better friend, [character], runs deep from precisely friendship when this takes date with more very popular girl school. Unfortunately, girl the old friends, that is from the rich department of city, is incompetent to abandon her, and it programs it returns in [character].
The winner of last times contest was Dwayne. Dwayne is another person who’s website is more like a ghost ship than a blog. no doubt he’s been too busy watching Are You Being served and thinking about Mrs Slocombe’s pussy. The dirty, dirty boy.

I have no clue whatsoever. It sounds like something that supermum wouldn’t let me watch.

@dadwhowrites, a recent tweet you made indicated to me you might not know this
Some how I know what it is which is kind of wonderful but I feel like I’m not allowed to play being married to Mr HUGHES and might get accused of insider trading
@Kerry, Smartarse.
I know! I know! “Pretty in Pink”
I hope they show the back catalogue of Mr Hughes on telly soon ;D
eeeeeeee

@Catherine, No, it’s not I’m afraid. But you are rather close.
Oh, is it the Breakfast Club? Is it, is it?

@notSupermum, no, but again on the right lines.
Oh! I see! It’s something by John Hughes. OK, I give up. Though the original version of Pretty In Pink was great before the Psychedelic Furs recut it for the soundtrack of some film or other.

Choooo. I don’t know then. Did you know Cameron’s house from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was on sale recently? 2 millions dollars or something that that. Ferrari not included.

@Catherine, to be fair though, it was a very nice house.
Clueless?
@Oli, you certainly are
@Dan, You are funny Dan.
In the head.
It’s some kind of wonderful … Which I already knew before I read Mrs H’s comment … honest! I used to have a thing for Eric Stolz

@Laura Driver, yes! Blimey, I’m surprised that took so long.
This is easy. All you have to do it retranslate it back to Greek, then Chinese and finally back to English again. It spit out the answer right away. The movie you’re referring to is Dirty Harry.
What do I win again?
