“It’s all Greek to me” Sunday

Here’s how it works. I’ve taken a short film synopsis from the listings page of a TV guide and fed it into Bable Fish, an online translating service. I then translated the synopsis from English into Greek, and then from Greek back into English. The resulting gobbledygook is posted below. Your task is to try and identify what movie the passage refers to.

Here’s the passage (another easy one I suspect):

[character] and [character] are two brothers which family of is prepared to move because a new growth that is sure to begin unless enough money is assembled, which is enough arguable. But, when does trip [character] in map of treasures of been famous [character] hidden the s chance, this, his brother, and certain friends determine in a search they find the with hopes are saved their houses. Is the entry in a cavern found, but found under a abandoned restaurant that is occupied by [character] family, a scheming team that tries they knock the [characters] in the money.

Last weeks winner was Carla from Blah Blah Blog-O-Licious. This week Carla has been rifling through the personal photos of President Obama. I suppose it beats the week before when she was battling with her medical insurance. From what I can make out she appears to have been wiping her arse with a cheese-grater or something. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

@Sam, You are right. So despite being a drunkard and a generally pathetic excuse for a human being, you have earned my respect little brother. But only for this week mind you.

@notSupermum, that’s fine. Although I was a little disappointed that you didn’t ask for my autograph :)

I did have a good time, and I’ll no doubt be blogging about it soon.

It’s not National Treasure I’m afraid.

I am with Goonies, but National Treasure could be it as well, tho I’ve never seen it. I just wonder if you’d pick goonies after last week? I don’t know.

Anyhoo…congrats on your top ten listing for mummy blogs…you are such a star!

@slugs on the refrigerator, I suspect my high ranking on that list has something to do with the fact that they take number of comments into account and I like to respond to each person who comments with another comment of my own. so my comment numbers are basically artificially doubled,

I’m going with the goonies too purely based on last week’s one.

Next week’s is ‘The Lost Boys’.

I had absolutely no idea so am glad I was late and the answer was already there. Having never seen the Goonies I’d never have got it anyway! Great idea though. I’m in Spain so use these crazy online translators quite a bit. I think I’m better off without them though. Anyway just popped over from your listing in Top 100 British Parent Bloggers – good job!
