The law is…Helmet law…You need to wear a hlemt in those states. If you dont then you will get pulled over and get a ticket….The other argument about safety/health/comfort etc etc is not for this foruym nor does it address your question…Its the law in those states-wear it…

Something that could really help with the TV thing is to get the basic package. My kids watch so much less TV now we no longer have Play House DIsney, Jettix, Disney Channel etc. I love it.

ANd how cute is Evan? Ok his Daddy is quite cute too, but Evan is adorable. And wow AMy, fabulous photos, that sky is gorgeous.

Recently I was loong through some old ones of Amy as a baby. AndI was surprised to find that the ones I liked best weren’t the posed perfect ones, but the flawed snapshots.

During the school year, we have set rules which pretty much limits TV watching to the weekends. Well, except for documentaries and other educational shows.

Personally, I hate watching TV during the day. It just seems wrong somehow. I feel like I should be doing something. So, even during the summer when the rules are relaxed, the TV still doesn’t go on much during the day, although the kids do get three mornings a week for cartoon viewing while I sleep in until 9.

The summer rules also relax to a point where we usually watch a show or movie most nights. Lately it’s just been a show, like an episode of Get Smart or Star Trek, because the sun is up so late we’re not even in the house for dinner until past 8 sometimes.

I can see that my kids love watching TV, but they aren’t addicted to it like I was as a kid. So, for now, I’m not too worried about it. Their addiction to Root Beer is another matter.

@Dan, and we all know how your laptop ended while you were trying to multitask ;) and about the finger in front of the lens, it's been ages since I've seen such a photo, I think it's a good thing. Everybody should have made these kind of photo's. @James (SeattleDad), I think every now and again it's good to take a look at what I'm doing and examining myself for any bad habbits I've developed. And using the TV as a babysitter, especially for evan, was one of them. .-= Dan´s last blog ..A slight change of plan =-.
