Recipe for homemade playdough:
on Jun 18 in General by Dan1 cup plain flour
½ cup salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 teaspoon food coloring
Put all the ingredients into a saucepan, and stir over a medium heat until the dough forms into a ball. Allow to cool, and then knead until smooth. To store, put it in a airtight container.
Oh, and quick tip: don’t let your kids persuade you to try eating any of it, no matter how much they make it look like cupcakes.

May have to revisit this. All the playdough I’ve tried to ‘cook’ in the past has been racked off.
Do you have a recipe for Moonsand?
.-= SingleParentDad´s last blog ..It Has Started =-.
@SingleParentDad, Moonsand:
1 cup of sand (preferably from the moon, but builders sand will do if not)
1/2 cup of superglue
Voila
Moonsand – that’s the stuff that grows in carpets, isn’t it, next to the wads of Playdough?
.-= dadwhowrites´s last blog ..You don’t want to read this. It isn’t pretty and I’d rather you thought I was a nice person. =-.
@dadwhowrites, that’s the stuff. It’s just opposite the pva glue covered glitter.
I remember making our own playdough when we were kids, I vaguely remember eating it too, salty if I remember correctly.
.-= Lee´s last blog ..Jill Skye – Illegal Fireworks =-.
@Lee, yeah, half a cup of salt will do that I guess.
you got persuaded when it was thát color of blue? Or did you manage to talk your way out of it..
.-= Arjan´s last blog ..Pinkpop (music festival) =-.
@Arjan, I ate some. i wish i didn’t. My children can be very persuasive when they want to be.
I was erasing the spam in my spamfolder just now and there was an e-mail from ‘playdoh’ with the title ‘improving your love life’
You don’t happen to know anything about that…
@Arjan, you know what, I don’t even want to know how playdoh can help you improve your love life.
Wait, on second thoughts I do.
