Tulips from Huddersfield

on Apr 16 in General by

It appears that spring had sprung whilst we were away. When we left two weeks ago the grass was short and the veg patch was barren. On our return I had to hack my way across the lawn with a machete and the raised beds were full of a number of ominous looking weeks that I suspect will turn out to be some horrific genus of triffid.

OK, so I’m exaggerating somewhat. But it’s fair to say that the grass was longer, the trees leafier, and the weather warmer than it was when we left. And also the tulips that I planted for Kerry earlier in the year had bloomed:

Unfortunately they are now past their best. They were probably at their most glorious whilst I was stuffing my face with burgers and pancakes (that isn’t a specific time reference by the way. Whilst we were in America I was always stuffing my face with burgers and pancakes. Even when I was asleep). Still, Kerry managed to get a few decent photos of the tulips, which was nice:

Kerry was very photo happy today in fact. She’s even resurrected her photo blog (which you should all add to your feed readers if you haven’t done so already). I’ve got mixed feelings about this however as she posted a photo that I was planning on stealing for this blog. How unbearably selfish of her.

I will have to take some of my own tomorrow. It’s all very inconvenient. People have got divorced for less you know.
