Hey, don’t you think you need a GIRL’s name in there – after all, you want HENS, right? Maybe the matriarch of the Marx clan, Minnie, would be a good choice. When my daughters were little and we were naming every newborn on the farm, we found it helpful to have a theme – one year it was Greek mythology, one year it was rivers, one year it was Jane Austen. It also helped us keep track of the age of some of the critters. ADORABLE pictures, Dan!

Anyway..there’s always the 7 dwarfs (if you keep them small) or give em dino names.
@ Penelope: I got the perfect solution: get her the chickens ánd a ferret. The ferret will take good care of those chickens and your daughter will be so mad at the ferret she will never ever want a ferret again :P
